Extended Hands was birthed in 1995 through a Song written by Myra Hill through divine inspiration.  She believed that the song was for a significant purpose and sent the song to her son Brian who was attending Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, OK.  While Brian attended SCU, the song was recorded by the University’s worship team and became part of the groups tour.  Additionally, ‘Extended Hands’ became the name of a singing group which toured and made a recording as well.  Over the next several years, Extended Hands took on various looks, but remained true to the core mission of the song.

In 2003, Brian Hill took over the work of Extended Hands and in 2005, Extended Hands evolved into the Extended Hands Foundation.  Currently, EHF operates in multiple avenues of society to fulfill the words of the original song and of Proverbs 31:8-9; “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those who are perishing.  Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.”

According to Brian, though he did not understand the significance of the song in 1995; he can not imagine his life without ‘Extended Hands’.  He acknowledges that it has become the mission statement of his life and serves as the ruder by which the EHF ship is guided.  “We have an awesome mandate to fulfill daily through the service of others.  Christ himself displayed this example for us through his selfless acts of love for all and further is quoted in Matthew 25:40 discipline that the service we give to “the least of these” is as unto him.  We are the ‘Extended Hands’ of Christ to a world that needs him and they can find him through our acts of service to those in need when we chose to be used as an offering.”
